n 1974, today, Brampton is a diverse, cosmopolitan, and vibrant place to be. From a population of 500 in 1853 to 523,911 in 2011, Brampton is Canada’s second fastest-growing and the 9th largest city. The Province of Ontario has designated Brampton as an urban growth area and by 2031, the City’s population is expected to grow to 725,000.

Located immediately north of Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Brampton has positioned itself as a global economic contender. Home to more than 8,000 businesses, Brampton enjoys a Triple ‘A’ credit rating by Standard & Poor’s. The City’s major business clusters include manufacturing, retail and wholesale trade. Brampton residents represent more than 170 different cultures and speak more than 70 languages.

Brampton is the youngest community in the Toronto census metropolitan area (CMA) with a median age at 34.7 according to the 2011 Census. ​​​​
